Volpe and Koenig, P.C. Attorney Donald Cox Presents at NJ State Bar Association’s 2013 Annual Meeting and Convention

PHILADELPHIA (June 18, 2013) – Volpe and Koenig, P.C., an intellectual property (IP) law firm with offices in Philadelphia, Pa. and Princeton, N.J. announced that attorney Donald J. Cox, Jr., served as a panelist at the New Jersey State Bar Association’s 2013 Annual Meeting and Convention.  The session, titled “Practical Tips to Recent Developments in Intellectual Property Law,” was held on May 17, 2013 in Atlantic City, N.J.  Moderated by Angela Foster, PhD, Esq., the seminar featured Chief Judge Jerome B. Simandle, of the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, and a panel of New Jersey IP attorneys who provided an update to recent changes in IP law, such as New Jersey’s patent pilot program one year later, the America Invents Act, the New Jersey Trade Secret Act, and trademark law considerations in a worldwide market. 

Cox practices in IP law, specifically in obtaining and protecting patent, trademark, copyright and trade secret rights in the U.S. and abroad.  He specializes in reviewing company IP portfolios, focusing on technologies relating to telecommunications, day trading, advanced bingo hall gaming machines and off-track betting systems.  Cox is registered to practice in California, New Jersey and before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.  He is admitted to practice before the Federal District Courts of New Jersey, the Central District of California, and the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.  Cox earned his J.D. from University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, and earned a B.S. in electrical engineering from the Rutgers University College of Engineering.
