RVCC TO OFFER SUMMER PROGRAM DESIGNED TO HELP KIDS START THEIR OWN BUSINESS

Raritan Valley Community College (RVCC) is offering a new summer program designed to help youngsters ages 8-10 start their own business. Young Entrepreneurs will be held Monday-Friday, July 22-August 2, from 1-4 p.m., at the College’s Branchburg Campus.

Led by Eldridge Overton Educational Programs, Young Entrepreneurs teaches children everything they need to know about starting their own business, including creating a business plan. Topics include marketing, advertising and interviewing; creating a company name, logo and business cards; and hiring and managing employees.

Participants also acquire problem-solving skills and learn about up-and-coming trends, such as green business ideas. The program also features guest speakers—mainly small business owners—who discuss with the students the benefits, hardships and everyday tasks of running their own business.

The cost to participate is $215. To register for Youth Program classes, visit http://www.raritanval.edu/youth. For information only, email youth@raritanval.edu or call 908-526-1200, ext. 8404. Before- and after-care are available for youngsters. The Youth Program office is located in the lower level of RVCC’s College Center.

RVCC’s main campus is located at 118 Lamington Road in Branchburg, NJ. Serving Somerset and Hunterdon County residents for over 40 years, the College offers more than 90 associate degrees and certificates. RVCC @ Bridgewater, located at 14 Vogt Drive, offers technical, trade, credit and non-credit courses.

The College is committed to offering a quality and affordable education through effective teaching, liaisons with the community’s businesses and state-of-the-art technology. For further information, visit http://www.raritanval.edu.
